Community guidelines

These rules protect the birds first, and our community second. Breaking them can cost you a contest entry or your membership.

• No baiting. Do not use live or artificial bait, including mealworms and tethered prey, to draw a bird into frame.
• No playback. Do not use recorded calls to lure birds, especially during the breeding season.
• No nest disturbance. Do not approach, clear vegetation around, or photograph at a nest site.
• Respect private land and protected areas. Take permission, stay on tracks, and follow every park rule.
• Keep your distance. If the bird changes its behaviour because of you, you are too close.
• Post your own work. Only upload photographs you took yourself.
• Protect sensitive species. Exact locations of threatened or nesting birds are never shown publicly on this site.
